Apple’s long-awaited foldable iPhone has reportedly moved into early trial production at Foxconn, signaling that the company is making tangible progress toward its first book-style foldable device. According to supply chain sources, the device features a large 7.7-inch inner folding display paired with a 5.3-inch cover screen and is currently targeted for shipment in the second half of 2026. While not yet in mass production, the move into trial stage brings Apple one step closer to competing in the foldable smartphone market with a crease-minimized design and iOS 27 optimizations for multitasking.
