Apple frequently releases AirPods firmware updates to address minor bugs affecting a few users or to enable new features for upcoming iOS updates. The latest update, version 8A358 (up from 8A357), applies to all H2 chip-equipped models, including the newly launched AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods 4 (with and without ANC). According to Apple’s AirPods firmware tracking page, this update includes standard “bug fixes and other improvements.” Firmware updates are delivered automatically while your AirPods are charging and in Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac that’s connected to Wi-Fi. You can also use your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to check that your AirPods have the latest version. If your AirPods don’t have the latest firmware version, you can update your firmware.
If you still can’t update your firmware, reset your AirPods, then try to update your firmware again. Support MacDailyNews at no extra cost to you by using this link to shop at Amazon.
