Apple’s agreement with OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, is not exclusive and does not stifle competition, Apple’s lawyers argued on Tuesday, urging a U.S. judge to dismiss a lawsuit brought by xAI, the AI company founded by multibillionaire Elon Musk. xAI is seeking billions in damages, claiming that Apple’s deal with OpenAI unfairly disadvantages the X app and xAI’s Grok app by reducing their prominence in the App Store.
