Apple’s latest iPhone Air marks a milestone as the company’s first smartphone to launch with exclusive eSIM support for cellular connectivity worldwide, forgoing any physical SIM card slot found in nearly all competing devices for linking to mobile carriers.
Apple’s support document, “Using eSIM with your iPhone in China mainland” currently states, “When traveling outside of China mainland, you can activate an eSIM from a local carrier on your iPhone Air, model A3518 that was purchased in China mainland. To do so, you must have location services enabled. eSIMs from non-China mainland carriers can’t be installed while located in China mainland.” Support MacDailyNews at no extra cost to you by using this link to shop at Amazon.
