The new ad, a five-and-a-half-minute short film titled Someday, is helmed by acclaimed director Spike Jonze (Her, Being John Malkovich). It follows Pascal’s character on an emotional odyssey of healing after a breakup. When he activates the Active Noise Cancellation on his AirPods 4, his muted, wintry reality bursts into a vivid, dreamlike world: The bleak tones give way to a kaleidoscope of color, and the people around him sync into a musical reverie. In one striking moment, Pascal’s character, immersed in his earbuds’ soundscape, experiences an out-of-body vision—seeing a freer, joyful version of himself. As he toggles between the somber haze of heartache and the buoyant glow of renewal, his outlook shifts, culminating in his participation in spontaneous flash-mob dances across a vibrant cityscape awash with cascading flower petals. The choreography, crafted by Tanisha Scott — known for her work with Rihanna, Drake, and Beyoncé — pairs Pascal with a troupe of backup dancers to bring the scenes to life.
