Back in late 2024, Bloomberg News‘ Mark Gurman reported that Apple was tinkering with a smart home doorbell and lock setup featuring Face ID, still in its infancy. He mentioned the doorbell would pair wirelessly with a matching deadbolt lock. Fast forward to Tuesday, February 25, 2025, when a well-known leaker, Kosutami, dropped a tidbit on X about a supposed new twist Apple’s cooking up for the doorbell: MagSafe integration.
