The fact that the Russian Foreign Minister in the Kremlin has been trying for some time to find a way forward was a surprise as most of the Russian leadership thinks that his country would face the same fate.
Now, for the rest of Russians, the country could be forced to look elsewhere.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recently told "Interfax" that Moscow does not believe Ukraine needs "a military solution" to the crisis and believes it will not respond in the way Ukraine demands. He said, "We believe that Ukraine has given itself enough strength to achieve its political goals that it is ready to join that process and take part to carry out its political and economic actions."
The West now needs to face up to this reality and also to consider just how many of its citizens will actually stay or have to go back to their homes, at least for a while.
What's more, the West needs to know what this means for both Russia and Ukraine, before it can take a decisive stand for itself on this issue.

One has to think about such things. So many people like the title. Let's take one example: the first President had a daughter from a wealthy family. How can the US military do something like this?
Well, if he hadn't fought back against the invasion at every turn of the century (remember, even before his death, Obama was actually fighting an active-duty special forces drill in the Philippines, and many of his people were killed after being in Afghanistan as part of it), it would have gotten off to a rough start.
