What I like about reading this on a personal level:
1. It offers the author time to explore and read what he and I have written, and he's able to make the same effort over more than a one-year period.
2. The chapters are about basic space exploration and technology; they have a purpose.
3. They are informative; they give a good idea as to how to think about space, in the most productive environment around to travel.
4. It also addresses the many problems facing human beings in space. Even when we think about the problem of space and how things can be set in the future or when we are capable of making change, our mind has always looked into the future and always knows how we can best deal with it. To put it bluntly, it's pretty awesome that the author is working with space scientists and getting them off their arse about the future! Plus, when I hear about his writing, I think that I can totally relate to this.

A reader sent us this tip about the "factory test" that I've written about here at the University of Maryland Press. This is a simple exercise that I did for a group of PhD students as they started researching and writing their business cards on the company website. It was fun to do until I finished it. In the video where I demonstrate the factory test, they just gave me feedback on my "feel." By watching the video, every second counts.
