I’ve been using iOS 15 development beta 2, which was updated last week to be in line with the official public beta release. I’m not in a position where I have lots of iPhone’s lying around so they go straight onto my daily phone, an iPhone 11.

I’ve been using my phone as I would normally and here’s a few observations of using it on your main device.

  • Battery life doesn’t seem to have been hit that hard but I’d recommend using low battery mode if you want to get it through a long day
  • I can’t see a lot of slow down due to the beta, it doesn’t feel that different to iOS 14
  • The improvements don’t warrant broken apps. If you rely on your iPhone to run third party apps like banking, don’t use it. iOS 15 isn’t a big release and you most likely won’t notice a huge difference

That’s it really, it’s a stable beta but not huge on features. If you need your phone to be as it was, stay on iOS 14. Don’t feel like you’re missing out on a lot by not using it.
