The director's cut for the acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima game has been announced. The game is set to arrive to the consoles on 20th August.

It's been nearly a year since Ghost of Tsushima impressed fans of the genre.

Sucker Punch, the studio that developed Ghost of Tsushima, confirmed that the Director's Cut will include a brand new Iki Island story expansion. It takes place on an island adjacent to Tsushima.

Besides that, there will be a bunch of new content and features included. In fact, there will also be some upgrades specifically designed for PS5.

According to the announcement, the upgraded PS5 feature will include: a DualSense Adaptive Trigger and Haptic Feedback support, 3D surround sound audio, 4K resolution with 60 fps, and enhanced load times.

If you've already started or have finished the game on PS4, don't worry. Players' progress will carry over from the PS4 version to the PS5. Players can either pick up where they left off, or jump straight to the Iki Island arc. But, they must finish Act 2.

Take note that there's no details of how the cross progression works as of yet.

Sony also gave fans a brief description of what we can expect from the new Iki Island expansion.

If you're a fan of history, you may know that besides the invasion of Tsushima, Iki Island was also invaded during the same time period. This chapter will tell a new chapter of Jin Sakai's journey in Iki as he investigates the rumors of Mongol presence.

In the announcement, there will be more to share in regards to the story of Iki but we do know that this story will be quite personal to Jin as he has to relive some traumatic moments from his past.

Finally, the Director's Cut and Iki Island story expansion will offer players new Trophies to unlock.
