In a recent research note, the firm projects positive news on pricing, suggesting only one model may see a price increase, which could be viewed as price stability rather than a significant hike. Ryan Christoffel for 9to5Mac: ‎ Here’s the full lineup of what JPMorgan projects: • iPhone 17: $799 (no increase) • iPhone 17 Air: $899-949 (no increase or $50 increase) • iPhone 17 Pro: $1,099 ($100 increase but with higher starting storage) • iPhone 17 Pro Max: $1,199 (no increase) The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to start at 256GB, eliminating the lower storage option which likely wasn’t very popular anyways. As a result, the new model will be the same price as last year at that 256GB storage tier. The biggest question mark, then, is the iPhone 17 Air. While it’s technically replacing the Plus model in the lineup, it’s a brand new form factor that could justify a slightly higher price. Starting the iPhone 17 Air at $899 could certainly help make up for what it lacks in cameras and battery life. These fraudulent messages appear convincing, featuring a receipt, order ID, and a support number. However, calling the number connects you to scammers, not Apple or any legitimate service. Kurt Knutsson for Fox News: ‎ These phishing emails pretend to be billing receipts for recent Apple Pay purchases. They typically claim that a subscription has been charged to your account and prompt you to call a phone number if you do not recognize the charge. The emails often use well-known brands such as Apple, Netflix, Expedia, or even lawn service companies to make them seem credible. Some also include a “DocuSign” link with a security code, creating the illusion that you need to access a file to confirm the transaction. In reality, neither Apple nor these other companies sends billing receipts through DocuSign. That detail alone is a red flag. Another telltale sign is the sender’s address. It may contain odd characters, such as a Cyrillic “B” replacing the “B” in “Billing,” which helps scammers bypass spam filters. Phishing scams are constantly evolving, and the DocuSign Apple Pay ruse is just one of many. The best defense is a healthy dose of skepticism. If something feels off, stop, double-check, and confirm directly through official channels. Scammers rely on panic and quick reactions. Although Apple has pushed for greater automation in supplier facilities for over two years, insiders report that it now mandates automation as a key condition for securing manufacturing contracts. This move aims to reduce reliance on manual labor, ensure consistent product quality across facilities, and lower long-term production costs, while also supporting Apple’s ongoing efforts to diversify its supply chain away from China. Hartley Charlton for MacRumors: ‎ Apple’s alleged automation mandate spans all major product categories, including the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. Apple now purportedly expects suppliers to fund their own automation upgrades rather than rely on Apple to finance or subsidize the necessary capital equipment. This policy change diverges from Apple’s previous approach, where the company frequently invested in tooling and machinery for contract manufacturers to meet its specifications. The financial burden of this new automation requirement is apparently already impacting supplier margins.
