Apple, Meta Platforms, and other tech giants could gain a reprieve from the EU’s AI regulations, as the European Commission considers easing parts of the legislation to streamline a wave of rules enacted over the past two years. The initiative follows heavy lobbying from major tech firms and U.S. government criticism of last year’s AI Act, which imposes risk-based requirements on artificial intelligence. Reuters:
