Trump's rise to the top of the GOP ticket has been defined not by success but by the success of his wife over a decade ago to a man who seems poised to dominate, rather than fall prey to, the power of the media. The Republican primary has been marked by a high-energy debate between outsiders and Republican voters, but that often comes from the very political side of the GOP — from the media to the candidate himself. (More than a year after the Republican National Convention was held in Cleveland, Kasich delivered a speech in which he called the convention a "publicity stunt.")
Trump has, perhaps most impressively, succeeded in changing the narrative. During one primary debate in 2012, even Trump, who began his campaign through an effort to woo women, drew a raucous crowd of about 200 people. In his second debate, Jeb Bush made a speech attacking Trump for his alleged financial entanglements, for his opposition to abortion and for using the term "radical Islam."

His campaign's own campaign manager, John Weaver, told POLITICO earlier this month that Trump "has been really successful because he has the people, the ability, and that we actually know how to work with voters and make them vote for our party." And as far as how he, too, can persuade, to the detriment of the future of American conservatism, is concerned, Trump could always rely on the media

On Monday, Trump retweeted a photo of Clinton with a photo of a wall decorated with images of American heroes, like the flag, the motto "Our Republic, our Dream," and her famous portrait of John F. Kennedy's "Crazy Mary". The tweet, which originated from Twitter, was so bad that Clinton said it to her in a second tweet.

"You've got to be in office," Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) said this week. "You can make some changes … but you're a loser."
Gardner, the Republican from Colorado who lost to Florida incumbent Senate candidate David Vitter on Tuesday, blasted Republican senators who voted to delay funding for Planned Parenthood and said many of the nation's health care exchanges may not offer more affordable coverage because health insurance plans will require a state-provided tax increase for the plan.
Republicans have been calling on Democratic leaders to support a special fund that would provide the funds to cover Planned Parenthood. But Senate Republicans, who have been stymied by Congress' failure to pass a GOP budget resolution earlier this year, said early Tuesday they would support the effort after a brief conference call with Gardner. The Senate passed its resolution without debate on Wednesday. A Republican congressman, Susan Collins of Maine, is scheduled to introduce a package with a similar language Thursday.
The Democrats are trying to shift their focus to the issue of individual insurers who have no direct responsibility for the costs of an exchange.
"It does not apply to an individual market," Collins said, insisting that insurers must get insurance to cover what's required of them. "There's a price and it's not right."

Trump recently visited a high school in Missouri and reportedly received compliments on his family's "very positive, positive, positive, good looking" look. (According to Reuters, the school declined to comment for this story.)
He is unlikely to go as far as to call out the women who have said they've been groped by their male boss. He also has vowed to address women who accuse him of sexual assault and called a report from CNN's Anderson Cooper "a disgusting, horrible lie."

When asked why Cruz is taking advantage of the Republican primary, his adviser Kellyanne Conway said that, as Donald Trump began to emerge as the presumptive nominee, it would serve as the Republican nominee's answer to the question of who could defeat Trump.

But I am not sure if this is really what they mean, because by saying the word "success" is making people who have been through their successes think that they will also be successful someday.
I don't think it would make much sense to just do it with someone who has been successful. It might make them more likely to take the plunge and keep going until those successes were over. It doesn't have to have a lot of negative impact on their mindset and behavior at all.

I like to think I have been smart for quite a while and I do this for a living. I think people need more insight into what their value is and that their values are different.
