According to a survey by Piper Sandler, 22% of American teenagers intend to upgrade to an iPhone 16 model this fall/winter. This marks an increase from the 20% who planned to upgrade this spring and is flattish the 23% and 24% who planned to upgrade in the previous two years, respectively.
Ives estimates that roughly 300 million iPhones in use today around the world have not been upgraded in over 4 years. Ives in September bumped the firm’s Apple price target to $300 from $285 and said that the iPhone 16 lineup will help catapult the company to a $4 trillion valuation in 2025.
