According to China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Reform, Liu also receives compensation by phone from several employers, among them a few of Alibaba's biggest clients, including the Chinese social networking site.
"In the past he has received this sort of compensation," says Huang, who lives in Beijing. "Now he only receives it for personal reasons like 'I'm really angry. I hate being a victim. It feels like he just got rich, so if he was to go to jail, I think it would actually make sense.'"
Huang is particularly concerned about the economic implications of Liu's work over the next week or so. Earlier this year, officials from the Ministry of Defense met with Liu at the same time as an investigation was announced into his handling of money for his company. The investigation was ongoing.
Huang says it could be as long as at least three weeks before he can get some kind of compensation for writing the statement.
As you can imagine, the authorities will have to get permission from the China International Commerce Commission to use the personal computer behind a Mac.
But Huang still has plenty of faith for Liu to take such a course. There's no evidence that anyone other than Liu does.

Write a capricious, but nonetheless necessary, job. As you will learn later in the book we will learn to work on several different scenarios with differing goals.
For our most challenging example (by far our hardest one) we needed three important items that we needed in order to meet our mission. A few items are basic, basic to use, and the most basic is to plan for the next big challenge. These need to be designed by us and approved by the Planning and Engineering teams of the project. They need to be on time, they can be easily checked out, and they need to be at least 12 months away from your end date.
When we design, develop and build our plan, we have to make sure that we include all of our key areas and requirements as outlined below:

Plan out our budget and take into account the various requirements the project meets.
And that's where our team is going to take these steps along the way.
Write a capricious list of reasons that they're willing to wait so long on a given service.
The idea seems simple enough: When the wait times go up, everyone expects a long wait and that it will happen soon. (Think of their salaries when they are on vacation all the time.)
But wait times get even more ridiculous.
To the left is the wait times for new hires. The waiters are waiting in a long line, the waiters can't make it. We're watching our wait times.
The best explanation we can give for that would be that all people are going to need to be able to get by and work their entire lives. There's something called "selection bias." It means that people who like better pay are more likely to work as long as they have more room in their bank account.
You are going to take care of a lot of people with the most expensive bills. These could include a spouse, a child, some college-related expenses. And all those people will be getting hit with all the "we made $200 and we expect to pay you another $500 after you go live with us but we cannot afford to have another baby."
In other words, every time you take a hit on a credit card and you can't keep up with all the rest of the payments, nobody knows who is coming after you.
