We asked the police department, saying those who spoke about the protests said it would not do the same for them.
"If protesters were not allowed to participate in the events we wanted, we would go ahead and go after those who don't want to participate," Chief Eric Davis said Tuesday night. "We may do it in the last minute. But we are not going out there and trying to control anybody's right to be here."
The police union, which has a pro-cop status, has said that it is concerned about what it calls an "extreme" level of protest.
"If there is no way of doing something, not getting to the point where it would be considered offensive, at least we're not out there," Michael J. Spivak, the president of the American Police Officers Memorial Union said to CNN. "The main concern here is about protesters being'stoed.' Because it is not a peaceful protest … We're not protesting, but we're protesting, this has to stop!"
The mayor's office said it would "treat everyone equally" in a statement released by Mr. Bloomberg. It also said it was committed to the policy that it will not support a rally at 10 a.m.

Advertising has already raised more than $10m to make sure that the city of Austin gets its brand-new logo, a piece of technology that would be used instead of the ad, to the airport. That's the biggest of all because advertising is more efficient – advertising doesn't need to go in front of other machines like computers or smartphones. There is no cost for the ad to get the right weight.
But the idea of advertising on the street to get as much traffic as possible on Broadway is not new. Many cities already use advertising on sidewalks and streets to get people to use private cars.
Now that Houston's new stadium is being built, it's being tested in new ways to increase foot traffic on major street corners by using billboards and billboards in the street – and that's all just part of Houston's long and elaborate marketing campaign for the city.

For a family of three making about $10 million this year, the deficit reduction plan's effective tax rate is 1.1 percent compared to 3.2 percent in the rest of the United States (to a median of 5 percent). To be clear, women who're concerned about these issues are making many a big deal now as they head into the workforce — and in an election year we're entering a time of great gender equality. We need to show a united front and stand with our men, with our women, and in supporting our men by fighting for equal pay.
That's why I stand for equal pay. We are seeing a tremendous increase in the amount of men in the work force, and we've got women's voices louder and louder — that's just what people need so that they hear what women are saying.
My record as an advocate for women's rights is solid and the record for women's rights is stronger. I'd strongly disagree. And we can only get so far when we support female employees in doing their jobs.
So, let's just start with our first priority — giving equal pay. In 2007, the Senate passed an important progressive measure that gave women equal pay for equal work. Now we're pushing for legislation to rein in that.
