This week, Chris Matthews made a series of headlines for mocking Obama's military achievements in Iraq:

While Hillary Clinton's comments were a tad offensive at times, the president's legacy in the region should not be viewed as an attack on his military authority, or a policy deviation from the original mission of the United States in Iraq. It was the President—and the nation that he served in—that made and continued to make decisions that have changed not only America's war and foreign policy but so many lives. Those choices have been made by, among other things, the Commander-in-Chief, the Secretary of State, and the Ambassador. The U.S. military's experience with Iraq has also evolved with this operation: many Americans may not remember the disastrous consequences of launching an attack on their homeland in a country that was not our place, nor have most Americans realized the magnitude of the problems that the situation had to face while occupying this country. Those who have remembered the past days must, without exception, remember those who lost their lives in this war;

In the previous article The New Yorker, Mark Laskowski pointedly suggested that the media should be at the center of the debate about gay marriage, not the problem. Not even that has changed.

This week's interview shows great promise on the subject. When he was asked about the media's role in preventing or reducing the spread of homosexuality, Laskowski responded: "Well, you know how it goes.
